St. Luke is considered by the Orthodox faiths to be the "patron saint of artists & writers." We know from Holy Scripture references that both Jesus and Luke embraced the theatre of the Greek culture that was so evident in Judea during their ministries. Just as Jesus created dramatic teaching and prayer moments at Caesaria Philippi, record these dramas with uncommon literary style in his Gospel.
Traditional? Yes! Predictable and low-key? Hardly! Jesus, the Living God on earth, knew how to engage his listeners with passion and artistry that included praise, prayer, storytelling, and dramatic miracles and healings. At St. Luke's Community Church we believe that beautifully performed musical, multi-experiential, and dramatic experiences glorify God and bless the participant and observer alike, in unfathomable ways.
